The Status Computers Partnership was formed September 1977 in Poole Dorset. The original partnership trading as “Newfoundland Electronics” was formed to provide repairs and maintenance services of electronic office systems to local business equipment suppliers.
During the late 70’s and throughout the 80’s most business equipment was based on microprocessors from a number of vendors including Intel. Newfoundland Electronics provided a chip level repair service to the local Business Equipment Industry.
With the introduction of CPM based personal computers during the 80’s the partnership re-engineered itself to provide the on-site support, training and maintenance required by these pioneering systems.
Newfoundland Electronics re-branded itself as Status Computers during 1983. Status Computers built on the experience gained from programming ROM based firmware used by business systems and started to produce business applications. Even before the introduction of MS DOS Status Computers were working with Microsoft languages to produce these applications.
Although our business has changed several times since 1977 we have kept pace with technology and gained a vast depth of experience. Status Computers today has evolved into a complete business solution provider.
Status Computers now provide every facet to meet a businesses information technology needs.
